This position is a member of our
Air Permits Division.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING- Supervises a Rule Registrations Section production team which includes overseeing activities, workload, permit project assignment, production (quality and quantity of reviews), and permit timeframe tracking (PTT) goals.
- Serves as advisor and consultant to management and staff in technical matters and program functions.
- Participates in development and implementation of Division, Section, and Team policies, streamlining initiatives and decisions, and technical research, to include providing proposals and recommendations.
- Conducts human resources management functions, which includes interviewing, hiring, and developing staff, performance management, etc.
- Plans and directs team activities, involving the analyses and reviews in support of air permit registrations, certifications and other agency projects as directed. Initiates, plans, and organizes team projects and reviews
KEY QUALIFICATIONS - Degree (bachelor's or higher) with a major in engineering or environmental science
- Experience with permit by rule, standard permits or new source review applications
- Experience with federal and state air regulations.
- Experience supervising staff (hiring, performance management, etc.); and/or participating in leadership training
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEExperience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.
OR
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

Work ScheduleStandard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedules are determined by the TCEQ Air Permits Division.
