The department delivers a wide range of services and serves as a centralized source for resident assistance to resolve neighborhood concerns.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This position provides comprehensive counseling, case management, and youth intervention services designed to support positive outcomes for referred youth and their families.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- Provide case management, intervention, prevention, and educational services for referred youth.
- Conduct youth assessments, follow-ups, and progress check-ins to ensure continuity of care.
- Facilitate youth-focused workshops, mediation sessions, and conflict resolution activities.
- Engage in family outreach to support youth success and reduce risk factors.
- Deliver services to gang-identified youth at Harris County Juvenile Probation locations and through remote platforms as needed.
- Provide a minimum of four (4) educational workshops annually.
- Deliver services to at least 24 youth annually, ensuring documentation and quality standards are met.
- Demonstrate measurable progress toward all outcomes and performance indicators established in the contract.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records, reports, and service documentation.
WORKING CONDITIONS This position operates primarily in an office and shelter environment. The role is physically comfortable; however, occasional travel and movement between facilities may be required.
This is a Department of Neighborhoods Emergency Management position at the Tier 2 Level.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Requires an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Management or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two years of experience in coordinating and managing community programs and activities are required.

PREFERENCES- Experience working with at-risk or justice-involved youth.
- Experience delivering workshops, mediation, conflict resolution, or family outreach.
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-need environments.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

SALARY INFORMATION This position is grant funded. Continued employment is contingent upon availability of funding.Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
