The PositionThe mission of the Napa County District Attorney's Office is to investigate and prosecute criminal and civil cases with integrity and fairness, to treat crime victims and witnesses with the highest level of respect and dignity, and to take a proactive role in crime prevention through community awareness and education.
The ideal candidate will be a person of integrity while possessing a passion for justice, a love for mercy, and an attitude of humility.
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience is desired.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
Victim Advocate Witness I ($33.43 - $39.55) Experience: One year of para-professional victim services, peer counseling, crisis intervention, social services or related advocacy experience.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of 18 units of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university in behavioral science, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or a closely related field is highly desirable.
Victim Advocate Witness II ($36.48 - $43.42): Experience:Two years experience performing victim services, peer counseling, crisis intervention and social services work activities for the County of Napa or other victim-witness program.
Education:Completion of 18 units of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university in behavioral science, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or a closely related field. (Additional victim witness advocacy work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis). An Associate, Bachelor and/or Masters degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
License or Certificate* for Victim Witness Advocate I and Victim Witness Advocate II:Possession of a valid driver's license.
*Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
