GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

*REMOTE POSITION DUE TO 50% TRAVEL*

The FYI Housing Mobility Coordinator will provide complex (journey-level) consultative services in the implementation of the Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) initiative under HUD¿s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. The Housing Mobility Coordinator will perform work to assist participating youth voucher holders aged 16-24 with location of suitable rental housing and assist youth in understanding their rights and responsibilities as tenants utilizing FYI. Work includes providing remote and on-site assistance to youth that are exiting or have exited foster care to locate and secure rental housing using a voucher. Consults with partners at the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and TDHCA staff to Works under general supervision of the program manager, with moderate latitude for use of initiative and independent judgement.

Must be willing to work in a non-smoking environment and adhere to all applicable Department policies and procedures. Must be willing to work overtime if necessary which may include nights and weekends. Must attend work regularly and adhere to approved work schedule.
