Help Keep One of Palo Alto's Largest Community Centers Ready for Every Day

The City of Palo Alto is seeking an experienced Building Serviceperson Lead to join the team at Cubberley Community Center.

Every day, Cubberley Community Center welcomes people for classes, sports, performances, meetings, and special events. As the Building Serviceperson Lead, you'll help keep the facility clean, safe, and ready for whatever the day brings.

This is a hands-on working lead position. You'll perform custodial and facility maintenance work while helping lead a team of approximately eight part-time custodial staff. You'll assist with staff scheduling, entering timecards, managing custodial supplies, coordinating work orders, opening and closing the facility, and preparing classrooms, gymnasiums, meeting spaces, and other public areas for daily use.

The regular schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Cubberley Community Center is one of the City's busiest and most unique facilities. This 35-acre campus serves thousands of residents and visitors each year and hosts everything from youth sports and dance classes to community meetings, theater performances, educational programs, and special events.

As the Building Serviceperson Lead, you'll help keep the campus running smoothly by maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities while supporting the daily operations of the custodial team. No two days are exactly alike, and your work will have a direct impact on the experience of everyone who visits Cubberley.

Located in south Palo Alto, Cubberley Community Center has been operated by the City since 1990 and is one of the City's largest and most active public facilities.

The campus includes classrooms, dance studios, gymnasiums, meeting rooms, a theater, outdoor gathering spaces, and athletic facilities. It is also home to a variety of long-term community partners that provide educational, childcare, health, arts, dance, and music programs for residents of all ages.

Whether you're preparing a classroom for a community workshop, setting up a gym for youth sports, or helping get the theater ready for a performance, your work helps create a welcoming environment for everyone who visits Cubberley.
