J OB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

*Note: intent is to fill one available posit ion, either as a civil engineer or associate civil engineer.

The successful Associate Civil Engineer applicant will work in the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) group of Jefferson County Transportation & Engineering Division and is responsible for performing engineering activities and construction management related to CIP projects involving roadway, bridge, stormwater drainage, and traffic operations projects . SCHEDULE:

This position is hybrid, with remote work and in-office work as needed, however, this position requires mostly office work with occasional field work. The successful candidate must have the ability to drive to various job site locations throughout unincorporated Jefferson County, walk over uneven terrain in a variety of weather conditions and compare existing site conditions with construction plans. COMPENSATION:

Associate Civil Engineer:

Hiring Range: $85,000- $98,500 USD Annually

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.

Civil Engineer:

Hiring Range: $ 100,00 0 - $114,500 USD Annually

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Civil Engineer:

Experience: One year of experience in civil engineering, roadway construction, or related field.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field. ( from ABET accredited college )

License/Certifications: Engineer-In-Training (EIT) / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) at time of hire.

The exceptional candidate will have :























Civil Engineer:

Experience: Four years of experience in civil engineering, roadway construction, or related field.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field (From ABET accredited college)

License/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) License at time of hire.
