POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION

The Instructor III - Arts - Stained Glass position is responsible for teaching specific arts and crafts classes to children and/or adults in a recreational setting. Recreation staff have the primary responsibility of ensuring the safety of program participants.

The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate.

Teaches arts and/or fine crafts to children and/or adultsMaintains a safe recreational atmosphereDevelops lesson plans and artwork samplesGives regular/new demonstrations of arts and/or crafts techniquesSecures class materials as needed and prepares such for classTracks attendance and instructor hours for all classesPottery Instructors will load and unload gas and electric kilnsMaintains regular and punctual attendance Other Duties and Responsibilities

This position requires a low degree of physical stamina and strength, including the ability to:

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is constantly performed indoors with occasional outdoor activity. Indoor and outdoor work is performed in a high public use, multilevel recreation facility where loud noise and multiple events and activities at one time may cause a distraction.Exposure to periods of high activity and stress under demanding conditions. The position requires a great deal of communication with City employees, the public, and outside agencies.
Required Materials and Equipment
Arts and crafts materials and equipment. Basic computer knowledge for completion of electronic timesheets.
