Summary
Summary Job Description: A Physician Assistant has an independent license to practice in a collaborative arrangement with a neurosurgeon and other health care providers utilizing primary, secondary and tertiary approaches. Augment a physician’s ability to provide patient care services by independently and interdependently scheduling, supervising and or conducting complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Physician Assistant also performs surgical procedures within their scope and realm of their practice agreement with their supervising neurosurgeon. Minimum Job Requirements Work Experience: One year of experience in a neurosurgery outpatient clinic is preferred. Three years of experience in a hospital environment as a physician assistant is preferred. License/Registration/Certification: National Commissioned Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required Licensed and approved as a physician assistant in the State of Texas Must have DEA Number, DPS Number, and eligible to obtain an NPI Number Current CPR certification required ACLS or ATLS are required within six months of employment. Education and Training: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to perform complex patient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interpret images. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to remain flexible and positive in stressful situations. Effective assessment, evaluation and resolution skills. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.Job Description
