Position Description

The Tacoma Fire Department is hosting two Women in the Fire Service recruiting events this fall. Each event will include an informational panel Q&A followed by a hands-on workshop with fire service equipment. We will be hosting two sessions, and e ach session will cover the same info and both will be completely free!

Space is Limited to the first 85 (per session) people who sign up.

Dates & Times

SESSION #1: Saturday, September 19th from 9:00am - 3:00pm
SESSION #2: Saturday, October 10th from 9:00am - 3:00pm

Please join us in an informal and welcoming environment to: Attendees will have the opportunity to rotate between hands-on stations hosted by the Fire Department and will include activities such as pulling hoses, EMS, and handling equipment. We invite you to come learn about the Tacoma Fire Department's recruit process and a firefighter's day-in-the-life directly from women in the field.

Other Employment Information

Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.

Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.

Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
