Job Description
DescriptionThe Department Manager performs supervisory and managerial work overseeing administrative procedures and accounting functions of the department. This position coordinates workflow for the department by supervising activities of employees as well as performs personnel administration functions pertaining to subordinates.
Examples of Duties
Organizes and maintains secured and confidential files and records according to established policies and procedures.
Prepares time sheets and coordinates scheduling to ensure the office has coverage; prepares agenda for meetings as necessary.
Assists in evaluating applications, interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees as necessary; trains employees as needed.
Manages the development, implementation, and administration of the department records system; oversees, monitors, and controls quality of the data entry.
Assists in the preparation and administration of budget requests and budgetary matters by compiling figures and researching methods of savings and efficiency; forecasts for budget and workflow needs.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Coordinates workflow; assigns specific responsibilities and supervises activities of subordinates.
Oversees personnel administrative functions pertaining to the felony criminal clerks.
Prepares and administers budget requests.
Coordinates scheduling of employees and approves or denies time-off requests; prepares time sheets for treasurer for civil/family division.
Coordinates the appeals process and prepares clerk records.
Maintains and destroys court exhibits as law allows.
Oversees the supervision of assigned personnel which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and minimum three years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
College degree in related field preferred.
Specific certifications may be required for this position.
