Internship Opportunity With Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars are seeking an intern to join our Business Strategy & Analytics department. The intern will mainly support initiatives in the Ticket Sales & Service, Sponsorship, and Marketing departments. We are looking for someone driven, dependable, and who takes initiative. The position will have a direct hand in helping influence Dallas Stars' ability to organize, analyze, and act on current and future data to keep the business on the cutting edge. This position is not eligible for remote work.

Essential Functions
  • Support business intelligence, ticketing/pricing, marketing, and strategic projects
  • Build and present data visualizations, dashboards, and presentations for use across the business
  • Review/update current reporting dashboards in Tableau and the SQL queries that support them
  • Automate or streamline existing processes through coding, use of software, or other innovative means
  • Assist with organizing, cleaning, and managing leads and other data in our Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • Support the creation and analysis of fan and season ticket member surveys
Additional Responsibilities
  • Continue to advance Stars analytical capabilities and identify new revenue-generating and/or fan-creating opportunities
  • Collaborate with Sponsorship and Marketing departments to analyze current market for the Dallas Stars
  • Conduct independent research on specific business topics and emerging technological areas
  • Evaluate current technological infrastructure and identify areas where technology could be enhanced, added, or replaced to create efficiencies
  • Identify potential data sources to integrate into data warehouse/data lake
Job Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently finished a Bachelor or master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Sports Analytics, or related field
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data visualization, CRM, data warehousing tools and concepts, queries, and ETL tools
  • Analytics experience (or related internships) within a sports organization preferred
  • Experience with data visualization (Tableau, Tableau Server, Looker, PowerBI) preferred
  • Prefer experience with data warehouses, queries, and ETL tools (SSMS, SQL, Alteryx, KNIME)
  • Experience with CRM (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, KORE Software) preferred
  • Prefer experience with statistical software (R, Python, SAS)
  • Experience with Ticketmaster/Archtics preferred
