As a Ground Ramp Agent, you will be essential in ensuring that flights run on time by providing efficient ground support services.Alliance Ground International (AGI) is one of the largest independently owned ground handling companies providing services to 100+ airlines in 61 airports across the U.S. and Canada. We are committed to providing the highest quality service and continuing our outstanding safety track record.Job responsibilitiesGuide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate.Transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loader, or baggage carts in a safe manner.Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage and/or destruction.Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies.Operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment and maintain visual contact with wing walkers to ensure the equipment is free of any danger.Operate and/or drive motorized equipment, such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push back tugs, bag cart, lavatory cart, and deicers; or manually push and pull push carts and containers to move luggage and cargo, tow planes between gates, and refill water tanks and lavatories.Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required.Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, which could include wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other vital property of passengers, and prepare records in connection with these responsibilities.Complete paperwork and forms connected with work assignments pertaining to procedures and enter data into the company's information system as required.Follow company procedures and protocols to ensure we are always operating in a safe and responsible manner.Complete all training when required by company, airport governing authority, or customer when required.Be on time, be prepared, and be safe. Be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Safety, Security and ComplianceTake reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and of others.Cooperate with manager/supervisor to comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.Do not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company.Inform manager/supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger.Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to manager/supervisor, who will follow procedures in company and carrier safety and security procedures.Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.Attend training courses as required by AGI.Physical RequirementsPhysical stamina and strength – must be able to lift/carry/push/pull and move items 70 lbs (32 kg) or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift items weighing 40–50 lbs on raised surfaces.Can carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs.Can walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.Can work in cramped or high places.Can be alerted to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities.Can work outside in all types of weather, around jet and machinery noises.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesGood Communication Skills – must communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively and professionally with flight crew, gate agents, and other ground crew to coordinate movement and handling of planes, equipment, baggage, and cargo.Basic Math Skills – may need to calculate weight and balance for planes.Computer Skills – may need to use computer systems to track cargo and baggage.Problem‑solving Skills – may be called upon to troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading.Time Management Skills – must manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.QualificationsAt least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Authorized to work in the United States (or Canada) as required.Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.Secure a Customs seal, if required by customer or role access.One or more year of relevant experience (preferred).AGI offers a comprehensive benefit package for all employees, including paid vacation and medical/dental/vision for full‑time qualified employees as well as medical coverage for part‑time employees.
