Position Description Texas Tech Physicians Endocrinology and Diabetes Center of Excellence is staffed with highly equipped professionals who have specific experience treating metabolic disorders in west Texas. Our providers are some of the most specialized in the region. Staffed with leading educators and researchers, our clinic strives to access effective treatment and reduce risks for patients with a variety of complications.
Major/Essential Functions - Provides medical care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients on a part-time basis;
- Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families;
- Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments;
- Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients;
- Orders studies, test and ancillary services;
- Documents all services in patient medical record;
- Consults with other departments and medical staff professionals as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues;
- Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements;
- Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications - Completion of Internal Medicine Residency Program;
- Completion of Endocrinology Fellowship.
- Foreign Medical Graduates Only: ECFMG Certification OR Equivalency Certification.
