Position Description Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine is growing to provide neurology services in the Department of Internal Medicine. This new service at our Odessa campus will provide outpatient coverage, including full scope diagnostic services such as EEGs, EMGs and NCV. The faculty candidate for this position will have an opportunity to build a new practice with both academic and institutional support.
Major/Essential Functions - Evaluate patients through detailed medical histories and physical neurological exams;
- Orders and interprets tests including MRIs, CT scans, EEGs and lumbar punctures;
- Prescribes medications, manages therapies and develops care plans for chronic conditions;
- Educates patients on health management strategies;
- Collaborates with additional healthcare professionals as needed;
- Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures; and
- Participate in bedside teaching and lectures for fellows, residents and medical students.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications - MD/DO or equivalent;
- Completion of, or in the process of completing, Neurology Residency or Fellowship; and
- Ability to obtain a TX medical license.
- Foreign Medical Graduates Only: ECFMG Certification OR Equivalency Certification.
