Position Description The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Department of Internal Medicine in Amarillo is dedicated to patient care, teaching at the resident and medical student levels and research. It's a strong and growing department with a close faculty-resident/student interrelationship and a strong foundation in general internal medicine.
Major/Essential Functions - Provide Hospitalist Services at community hospital. This includes patient admissions and patient care inclusive of patient rounds.
- Perform medical examinations for all patients in accordance with departmental expectations.
- Monitor patients' conditions and progress and provide patient education and referrals as appropriate.
- Complete timely and accurate patient medical records.
- Participate in the training and mentoring of medical students, residents and fellows.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications - MD/DO or equivalent;
- Completion of Residency in Internal Medicine;
- Board certified, board eligible, or in the process of becoming board eligible in Internal Medicine; and
- Current TX medical license.
- Foreign Medical Graduates Only: ECFMG Certification OR Equivalency Certification.
