General

The Bus Fleet Infrastructure Department oversees the delivery of major bus fleet and facilities infrastructure projects for SamTrans. The projects include design and construction of zero emissions infrastructure (battery electric bus (BEB) charging infrastructure and hydrogen fuel cell electric bus (FCEB) infrastructure) for SamTrans’s revenue and non-revenue fleet of nearly 400 vehicles, sea level rise and flood mitigation structures, bus administration, transportation, and maintenance buildings, and other structures at SamTrans’ North Base and South Base Maintenance Facilities.

The Manager of Construction is responsible for managing construction-phase activities for San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) bus fleet, facilities, and related infrastructure projects. The position leads day-to-day construction management, constructability, contract administration, field coordination, quality, safety, schedule, budget, and closeout functions in coordination with assigned project managers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in office, field, and active construction-site environments. The position may require travel among District facilities and project sites; attendance at meetings outside normal business hours; and use of appropriate personal protective equipment in field conditions.
