The Human Resources and Risk Management Divisions are seeking one well-qualified candidate to join the team as a Senior Human Resources Analyst. Relationship building is essential to success in this position, as the Senior Human Resources Analyst works closely with employees, supervisors, department leadership, and labor representatives to navigate complex HR matters and develop practical, collaborative solutions.

Employees in this bargaining unit will receive a 5% General Salary Increase in July 2027.

Job Description

Receives general direction from the Deputy Director of Human Resources and Risk Management or designee. May exercise direct supervision over professional and administrative support staff.

This classification in the Human Resource Analyst series is responsible for performing the most complex work assigned to the series and serving as a subject matter expert within assigned professional area. Incumbents regularly work on tasks which are varied and complex, requiring considerable discretion and independent judgement. Positions in the classification rely on experience and judgement to perform assigned duties. Performance of the work requires the use of independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines. This class is distinguished from the Human Resources Analyst class by the complexity and difficulty of the tasks assigned, the higher level of independence required, and the addition of the responsibility to make recommendations regarding changes in policies, procedures, or administration based on analysis, research, and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or other controls; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Requires frequent use of personal computer, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs; 10-key calculator; telephone; copy and fax machine.

Environmental CONDITIONS

Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
