Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, the position of Lead Stage Technician is in charge of the theatrical and stage equipment and use of the stage during events at the Carpenter Center.

Key Responsibilities



Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of the methods and problems of stage and set design and construction; knowledge of stage equipment and its operation; knowledge of stage construction and set design; knowledge of the types and uses of lighting (including intelligent systems), sound, counterweight, rigging and other stage equipment; working knowledge of sound design and live mixing. Ability to construct and supervise the construction of stage sets; ability to improvise stage property, sound and other stage effects; ability to operate and supervise stage equipment; ability to instruct, train and supervise the work of technical assistance.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

Equivalent to 24 semester units of related college coursework and two years of related professional or technical experience required.

Compensation

The salary range for this classification is $23.75 to $42.97 per hour.

Time Base

Hourly/intermittent on call temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
