This recruitment is only open to current San Bernardino County, San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, or Special Districts employees who hold a regular, contract, extra-help, recurrent, Public Service Employee, Work Experience Program (WEX) or intern position. Former PSE, WEX, or interns are eligible to apply up to 6 months from the end of their assignment.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is recruiting for a Sheriff's Financial Manager to manage and coordinate the Sheriff's Department fiscal activities which includes preparing and monitoring the budget; accounts receivable, financial reporting and controls, accounting and auditing functions; special cost studies; oversight of inmate welfare and other special funds; and grants management. Additionally, this position serves as liaison to the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector and the County Administrative Office, and advises management regarding financial policy matters of the Bureau of Administration.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Background: Because this position is located in the Sheriff's Department, applicants must not have been convicted of a felony. Prior to appointment, candidates will be fingerprinted and must successfully pass a full background investigation which includes a polygraph.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in public/business administration, accounting, finance, or closely related field.

-AND-

Experience: Three (3) years of professional level administrative or management experience performing fiscal analysis, accounting functions, and budgetary oversight. Experience must include at least one (1) year of full-scope supervisory experience, comparable to an Administrative Supervisor I or higher in San Bernardino County.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have two or more years of full-scope supervisory experience that includes governmental fiscal, accounting, and budgetary oversight.
