Position OverviewThe Financial Services Department is hiring an Organizational Development Training Specialist Senior to lead growth efforts and support the advancement of departmental goals. In this role, you’ll coordinate and deliver impactful training for both staff and management, designing curriculum that truly connects. Training will be delivered in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions and interactive webinars to ensure learning remains flexible, engaging, and effective.

Our staff supports a wide variety of financial processes, including preparing the annual budget and annual fiscal report, procurement processes, franchise agreements, real estate transactions, and overseeing the City’s investment portfolio and debt management.

Pay Range
$32.23 - $40.29
Hours
Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Telework opportunities may be available after an initial training period. Work schedules are implemented to meet the requirements of the department and are subject to change based on business needs.
Staff eligible to telework must be in the office for at least 40% of their scheduled work week.

- Experience developing curriculum and delivering training modules and workshops.
- Strong understanding and application of adult learning principles to enhance training effectiveness.
- Experience designing and performing needs assessments to identify and analyze organization problems and provide related solutions.
- Experience creating eLearning modules using Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, or similar software.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental rollouts of citywide HR or organizational development (OD) initiatives Designs and performs department-wide needs assessments to identify and analyze major organizational problems. Analyzes the results of needs assessments, meetings, research, and other forms of communications in order to develop short- and long-term strategies for organizational development across an entire department or group of departments. Coordinates the activities of other organizational development and training personnel, assigning tasks and monitoring their completion. Provides advice to management and others on how to best handle their organizational problems. Develops, schedules, coordinates, and delivers training modules, workshops, and facilitations to selected audiences. Evaluates the effectiveness of training modules, workshops, etc., and makes changes as needed to improve future results. Plans, designs, implements, and evaluates plans and activities for assigned projects and programs. Facilitates groups in areas such as conflict resolution, team development, process improvement, strategic planning, and problem solving. Participates in or lead teams with Organization Development, Human Resources, and other team members.
Responsibilities- Supervision and/or Leadership Exercised:
- Provides leadership for groups including other professionals and support staff in the area of Organizational Development and Training.
- Leads workshops and classes as an instructor or trainer.
- Mentors less experienced Organizational Development and Training personnel.
