Position DutiesThe Department of Transportation is currently seeking to fill 1 vacancy for the P arking & Traffic Control Supervisor position. This position supervises PTCOs and Sr. PTCOs engaged in enforcement of vehicle and parking codes and regulations, directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic, traffic control, patrolling assigned areas, and towing vehicles. The Parking and Traffic Control Supervisor is responsible for the management of the parking control program, coordination of services and events, and negotiation and oversight of contracts.
May work assigned shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays; may be required to work overtime for assigned periods or for special events.
Additional responsibilities of the PTCO Supervisor may include, but are not limited to:
- Representing DOT in meetings with inside and outside stakeholders and plan and coordinate field work with outside vendors and contractors.
- Managing vendor contract and supervise staff.
- Leading a team to provide pavement construction support.
- Leading a team of vendor staff to support the Vehicle Abatement Program.

Minimum QualificationsEducation: Completion of two (2) years of undergraduate coursework from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, law enforcement, or related field
Experience: Four (4) years of experience requiring independent decisions and having considerable contact with the general public in parking control, enforcement, or a similar regulatory function.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid State of California driver's license.
- Successful completion of a formal police background check
Form 700 Requirement: This position requires a disclosure of outside investments, real property interest, income, and business positions. You must complete and file an “Assuming Office Form 700” with the City Clerk’s Office within the first 30 days of employment with the office.

- Ability to manage vendor contract and supervise contract staff.
