Position DescriptionSupervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in carrying out departmental objectives in a unit of a department.
Major/Essential Functions- Supervise and assist with the collection and disbursement of Surplus property. This includes managing the Public Surplus system, live viewing, and the Texas Correction Industries (TCI) computer program.
- Verify accuracy of inventories on a weekly basis, and reconcile any discrepancies. Review and process all institutional assets for Unit Manager approval. Annually certify departmental inventory.
- Head the processing of Bulk Mail and assist in operation of Bulk Mail Services.
- Supervise and assist in the collection and distribution of all incoming packages, including Amazon, campus mail, FedEx, freight, Staples, UPS, USPS, and other deliveries.
- Captures and maintains data and documents items picked up, delivered, redistributed, sold, disposed of or otherwise added to or removed from redistribution area.
- Meet with designated staff and set priorities and goals for resource utilization; monitor, evaluate and adjust allowing for continuous improvement of quality and services
- Supervises all maintenance and repairs to equipment within the department as per manufactures maintenance specifications; adjust and make minor repairs.
- Supervise and assist in collecting and accurately affixing postage to all outgoing packages and mail using the most effective method.
- Accurately prepare and deliver reports detailing service functions, inventory sold through online sales, and fiscal activity on a timely basis.
- Coordinate production needs with departmental co-workers to ensure uninterrupted work flows and most economical and efficient use of equipment and time.
- Ensure all items are accurately billed for assigned areas and that proper documentation is easily available for customer or internal audit queries.
- Answer telephones/emails and provide customer services.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree plus two years of job-related experience; OR a combination of education and/or experience to equal six years.
