Position Description
Correctional Medication Aide (CMA) Training Program
On-the-job training position for the Correctional Medication Aide (CMA) Training Program. This position is a training position contingent upon the successful completion of the CMA program and attainment of the CMA certification/permit from the licensing authority. During this training period, performs training as assigned, conducts other duties, and within scope of the Trainee position. These duties, within the health care department, may or may not be directly related to this position.

Correctional Medication Aide
This position assists in the overall operation of the Unit Medication Room and distributes client's medications from filled prescriptions.

Major/Essential Functions
As a Correctional Medication Aide Trainee, you will receive on-the-job training at our Clements Unit located in Amarillo, Texas. During this 8-week training program, you will be required to:As a Correctional Medication AideApplicants will be considered for either a Correctional Medication Aide or Correctional Medication Aide Trainee level position based on education, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications
Correctional Medication Aide: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent with current credential from the Texas Department of State Health Services OR Successful completion of a certified medication aide training course and passage of State exam.

Correctional Medication Aide Trainee: HS diploma or GED
