*There are two vacancies is in the City's Transportation Department, One in the Equipment Maintenance Division, and one in the Operations Division; however, qualified applicants may be referred throughout City departments as vacancies occur.

The City of Culver City is seeking a positive, motivated, self-starter to join the City. Positions in this classification require the frequent use of a high degree of independent judgment in making decisions in accordance with established rules and procedures, are expected to assume significant responsibility for the development and implementation of City policy in an assigned area, serve as an expert in one or more specific technical areas, and represent the interests of the City on substantive policy and operational questions and make commitments within broad guidelines.

City of Culver City's Transportation Department:

The Transportation Department is responsible for the planning, delivery, and management of Citywide mobility initiatives and services to reimagine mobility, connect community, and enhance the quality of life in Culver City and the Westside communities of Los Angeles. The Department’s mission is to plan, operate, and maintain the movement of people to, through, and from Culver City through its exemplary services, hardworking staff, and innovative culture. This Department is led by the Chief Transportation Officer and is comprised of 195 dedicated staff who work across the Administration, Transportation and Mobility Planning, Fleet Services (Equipment Maintenance), and Transit Operations Divisions. About the Senior Management Analyst Position (Equipment Maintenance/Fleet Services) :
The Fleet Services Division’s Senior Management Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective operation of the City's vehicles and Transportation Facility. This involves a diverse range of responsibilities including analyzing fleet data to identify trends and areas for improvement, developing and implementing strategies to optimize vehicle utilization and maintenance schedules, conducting in-depth analyses of facility needs to identify areas for improvement and optimization. The position is responsible for developing recommendations for vehicle replacement schedules, preventative maintenance programs, and facility upgrades, often utilizing data analysis and modeling to support their findings. Additionally, they will assist in budget preparation and monitoring, project management, and the development of performance metrics to track the division's effectiveness. In this dynamic role, the Senior Management Analyst must be highly organized, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Requested experience: experience in a fast-paced environment, experience working within fleet and/or facilities divisions.

About the Senior Management Analyst Position (Transit Operations) :


The Transit Operations Division’s Senior Management Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operations of the City’s bus and paratransit systems. This involves several unique responsibilities, including analyzing large datasets related to ridership, on-time performance, and operational efficiency; overseeing the ongoing improvements to and implementation of the Public Transit Agency Safety Plan (PTASP); leading projects and collaborating with stakeholder teams to resolve operation issues and implementing improvements. The Senior Management Analyst will gain thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to transit operations and safety, and play a critical role in sharing regulatory information with leadership and ensuring that all staff are compliant with standards. Additionally, they will assist in budget preparation and monitoring, project management, and the development of performance metrics to track the division’s effectiveness. In this dynamic role, the Senior Management Analyst must be highly organize, possess strong technical and problem-solving skills, and have an interest in emerging transit technology and systems.

Requested experience: direct experience working in transit operations, including scheduling, dispatch and performance analysis; experience using data analysis tools & software; familiarity with modern transit technologies preferred.

Minimum requirements:
Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration; and
Four (4) years of responsible management assistance experience in a public sector organization.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES

Only the most qualified candidates will be invited to advance to the next stage in the recruitment process, which will consist of an oral appraisal interview. Candidates who are not invited to the next stage will be deferred and may receive future consideration. The oral appraisal interview is tentatively scheduled for the week of October 06, 2025.
