GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK

Under general supervision, the Assistant Quartermaster is responsible for the acquisition, storage, distribution, and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and uniforms for the department. Additionally, the Assistant Quartermaster will provide administrative support to the Fleet and Technology Coordinators.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXPECTED

The Assistant Quartermaster currently receives general supervision from: Planning and Research Analyst.
The Assistant Quartermaster currently exercises direct and general supervision over: NONE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Receives, stocks and maintains inventory of all equipment, supplies and uniforms.
• Issues and exchanges supplies and equipment; processes returns; tracks inventory.
• Schedules and completes uniform fittings for personnel.
• Prepares requisitions for department equipment and supplies.
• Creates, files, and maintains documentation of all issued equipment and uniforms within the Quartermaster system.
• Creates, files, and maintains documentation of the department’s fleet within the Quartermaster system.
• Manages and reconciles purchases made through the Purchase Card program
• Performs related tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• General knowledge of inventory control methods, procedures, and practices.
• General knowledge of police equipment and supplies.
• Familiarity of general office policies and procedures.
• Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to establish and maintain e0ective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
• Experience using a computer and applications software.
• Strong organizational skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Regular contact with internal and external stakeholders via phone, in person, or through email.
• Work occurs predominantly in an office setting.
• Lifting up to 30 pounds may be necessary.
• Occasional duties beyond the normal working hours may be necessary

REMOTE WORK

This position is not eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule.

SALARY RANGE

The hiring range for this position is $23.82 - $26.33 per hour; which is approximately $49,548.20 - $54,763.80 per year. Starting offer is based on applicable education beyond minimum requirements and internal equity. The position also provides excellent benefits including 12 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance options with employer contribution, employer-paid life insurance, VRS retirement, and continuing education/training opportunities. This is a full time, FLSA non-exempt position. Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with Local Government Personnel Policy, §P-60.
