POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

The Electrician is responsible for executing tasks in a timely manner related to the electrical shop operations and overall facility maintenance. This role supports electrical work for remodels, capital improvements, and smaller projects. The Electrician plays a key role in enhancing the comfort and safety Ambassadors and contributes positively to the overall experience of building visitors.

This position is expected to deliver the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers through proactive and reactive assistance that consistently exceeds expectations.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS

At the LVCVA, safety is everyone’s job. Executives and managers are expected to ensure safe work and a safe working environment through guidance and leadership for Ambassadors and contractors to include assessing and eliminating workplace hazards. Further expectations include ensuring compliance with and demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of established rules, policies, procedures and regulations. Management is also expected to provide tools necessary for achieving safety to include time and budget.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Ambassador to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The individual in this position must be able to work in a typical engineering environment, including office buildings, commercial facilities, and exterior grounds housing electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. This includes working in confined or cramped spaces such as electrical and mechanical equipment rooms. They must be capable of walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, balancing, and crawling, with sufficient manual dexterity. The individual should have the strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds using proper equipment. They must be able to distinguish colors, sizes, shapes, and temperatures, and safely work in high or precarious locations and in various climates. The ability to wear and work safely while using personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Additionally, the individual must be able to operate standard office equipment, including computers, and read and distinguish colors both on printed materials and computer screens. Good hearing and effective communication skills are essential, including in-person, telephone, and radio interactions. The individual must also be able to drive a vehicle to multiple work locations as needed.

Total compensation at the Authority consists not only of the salary paid, but also of the various benefits offered, such as group health and life insurance and retirement plan. Depending on the type of insurance selected, adding these benefits increases an employee's total compensation from between 30 to 40 percent.
