Pay Range: $22.90/hr. - $28.62/hr.

Workdays & Hours: Various shifts, Monday - Friday 6am -11pm; Some evening/weekend work required.
An individual applying for this role must understand that the position requires the Parking Compliance Technician to walk and/or ride a bike for 7-9 hours per day (depending on assigned shift). The Parking Compliance Technician works almost exclusively outside. Please note that Parking Compliance Technicians are not sworn police officers and do not have authority to make arrests. This position may require weekend and holiday shifts, possibly including Thanksgiving and Christmas. The position may require rotating shift assignments to include Sunday through Saturday 6am -11pm.

A Parking Compliance Technician II job is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation Public Works. Parking Compliance Technician II leads, assigns, reviews and participates in more complex field staff assignments within the Parking Compliance Section. Acts as team leader within the field staff unit and or provides a wide variety of specific parking and city related customer services pertaining to various events, specific locations, and individual circumstances. Patrols the Central Business District and surrounding areas of the city by foot, bicycle or by vehicle to enforce city municipal codes pertaining to parking violations. The Parking Compliance Technician II position works primarily outdoors. At least 90% of the job functions are performed outdoors. The Parking Compliance Technician will walk and ride a bicycle daily to perform the job functions. Issuing warnings or citations to vehicles in violation.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of experience related to parking control, traffic services, recordkeeping/report writing, customer service, or related field
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Valid certified Tourism Ambassador Certificate (CTA) within six (6) months of employment
- Must pass drug screen and physical
Preferred Qualifications: - Microsoft Word, Excel, Access skills
- 2-way radio operation or functioning in emergency situations
- A minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience involved contact with the public, such as: hospitality, retail, and/or security.
The Parking Compliance Technician II job responsibilities include: - Participate in selection, supervision, training, and evaluation of subordinates.
- Lead and Coordinate the work of team personnel
- Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations and/or parking policies, and issue citations and warnings for non-compliance
- Consistently communicate to the public about the best parking practices which leads to safe and efficient use of on-street curb space
- Check for proper permit for crews working in the street or right-of-way
- Interacts with hostile and irate parking violators handling difficult situations, investigates and resolves violation disputes, and may notify police of incidents involving abusive behavior by the public
- Reports damaged or malfunctioning meters and traffic signals for repair via MYFW app, and may be assigned as an alternate to collect revenue from parking meters or repair meters as needed
- This position requires the ability to work alone and therefore, must exercise good time management, proper judgement, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with citizens
- Must be able to both walk and ride a mountain bike (main source of transportation) for long distances and/or long hours outside in all elements (exposure to extreme weather conditions; close proximity to moving vehicles and dangerous traffic; exposure to exhaust, fumes, odors and noise; work on slippery or uneven surfaces)
