The position at Will Rogers Memorial Center qualifies for the following incentive which is separate from the base pay:
***$2,000 Sign-On Incentive: 50% paid after the completion of first pay period, 50% paid after the completion of 6 months of employment*** A Skills Trade Technician I job is available with the City of Fort Worth Public Events Department at Will Rogers Memorial Center. This position plays a very important role in making sure our venues follows safe work practices and safety guidelines established by the department, providing technical support to the assigned supervisory personnel.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in assigned trade
- Two (2) years of electrical experience
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Must pass drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications: - HVAC and/or electrical experience (Certified or Licensed preferred)
- Heavy public contract experience
- Certified aerial lift platforms
- Certified Fork-Lift
- Experience in cutting keys and re-keying locks/cylinders
- Experience with fire alarm systems
The Skills Trade Technician I job responsibilities include: - Develops work plans and schedules to provide services in an assigned trades area.
- Employs safe work practices and follows safety guidelines established by the assigned department.
- As appropriate, supervises the work of unskilled personnel.
- Maintains appropriate records, writes reports and prepares correspondence as assigned.
- Establishes and follows a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment in an assigned area of responsibility. Inspects and cleans tools after use. Orders and maintains supplies according to established City and departmental procedures.
- Performs related duties outside of the area of specialization as required by specific jobs.
- Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling, lifting, depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.
Heavy Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects
