Job Description:

Purpose:

Under minimal supervision and with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment, provide oversight and reporting and make improvement recommendations for the City’s Capital Improvements Program (CIP) within the Capital Planning Office

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or related field plus five (5) years of related work experience including two (2) years as a project manager, program manager and/or portfolio manager, preferably with a municipality.

Position Overview:

This position will lead asset management plan development and communication efforts at the enterprise level for a diverse asset base spanning across heavy civil and high voltage electrical, IT, and building system assets. Additionally, the Capital Program Consultant will be tasked with analyzing and validating Austin Water’s multi-billion-dollar capital improvements program to identify opportunities to innovate and ensure industry best practices are implemented in the service of resource optimization and good stewardship of public assets. This individual will be a confident presenter and networker, working collaboratively with subject matter experts across engineering, operations, and finance inside and outside of Austin Water to identify business process improvements and innovative tools.

Pay Range:

$97,450.00 - $125,200.00 Annual

Waller Creek Center (625 E 10th St, Austin, TX 78701)

Days and Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.
