The Information Technology Team at the City of Irvine is seeking a skilled Information Technology Specialist II - Senior Firewall Engineer to join a cross-functional team dedicated to maintaining a secure and high-performance firewall infrastructure. This role involves managing enterprise-grade firewalls, monitoring and responding to security incidents, and staying up to date on firewall policies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Palo Alto Networks and in-depth knowledge of network protocols, Public Key Infrastructure, and cloud-based firewall security.

The selection process will include an examination and conduct a background investigation prior to appointment which includes a Public Safety Polygraph exam. This recruitment may establish an eligibility list to fill future positions in similar and/or lower classifications within the organization.
