THE POSITION
The Public Health Nurse (PHN) Manager serves a vital leadership role within the Solano County Health & Social Services Department. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the work of professional and support staff engaged in one or more public health programs, while serving as a clinical and administrative resource for a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive health, social, and behavioral health services to the community.

The PHN Manager assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, and assumes significant responsibility for the preparation, oversight, and administration of assigned budgets and contracts. The position ensures that all program activities are completed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and County policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience: Three (3) years of general public health or mental health nursing experience, depending on area of assignment, which includes one year of supervisory and/or program coordinator responsibility.

Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited college or university in Public Health, or Nursing administration. A Master’s degree is desirable.

SELECTION PROCESS
