The purpose of the position is to lead event planning and production for the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center’s (ESB-MACC) large scale Special Events specializing in Mexican American, Latino/a/e, and Native American cultural arts for diverse audiences, including youth, adults, and all ages family friendly events.

Job Description:

PURPOSE
Under general supervision, this position coordinates, assigns, directs, and performs tasks in the development and implementation of cultural arts programs and activities of assigned areas, including the day-to-day management and care of assigned collections, exhibits, records, material assets, and other City-owned, loaned, or borrowed property.

The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC) is dedicated to the preservation, creation, presentation, and promotion of the cultural arts of Mexican Americans and Latino/a/e cultures. The Center is a resource for the community and visitors to learn and participate in classes and programs that will foster a meaningful understanding and appreciation of not only Mexican American, but also Native American, Chicano, and other Latino/a/e cultures. Programs and events include areas of visual art, theatre, dance, literature, music, language arts, and multimedia.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. May be required to work during special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.

Location: ESB MACC 600 Red River St.

Work schedule and location are subject to change based on department needs and programs.

Salary: $54,340.00-$64,660.00

Travel:

If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations
